“Raising funds with flair – because making a difference should always come with a side of fun.”
What is it you love about fundraising for charities?
I have a passion and commitment to help non-profit organizations succeed in their fundraising efforts. This is a perfect fit with the mission and values of FUNauctions, LLC. Together with Gayle Stallings, the founder and principal auctioneer for FUNauctions, we help bring proven experience to crafting custom benefit auction event consultation and fundraising services that get results. My love of service and helping others also led me to work as a Special Education Teacher for more than 5 years where along with math, I taught social skills and mindfulness.
How did you begin your journey with FUNauctions?
That started in 2010, when I became a personal assistant to Gayle at FUNauctions. Two years later, I attended a fundraiser that was short of a few volunteer bid spotters. I stepped up to help and ta-da, a spark was lit! I was so excited, I decided to attend the Professional Ringman Institute to hone my talents as a professional bid spotter. Since then, I’ve assisted in over 100 fundraising galas since 2012, as part of the FUNauctions team.
What’s one of the many strengths you bring to FUNauctions?
It’s my love of theatre. With a Bachelor of Arts in Performance from McNeese State University, I have more than 25 years of experience in performing arts. I love it so much so that I took improv classes which help me think quickly on my feet. I took those key skills and performing talents to work with Hideout Theater’s Building Connections program for autistic youth.
In 2022, I pursued an auctioneering license with the State of Texas and graduated in the class of America’s Auction Academy and went on to learn from Jenelle “Gala Gal” Taylor about the essentials of being a benefit auctioneer.
