Gayle Stallings, CAI, BAS Benefit Auctioneer
by Beth Felker, M.A., Executive Director, SpineHope
Gayle had me at “no.”
During our first meeting, I knew I’d found “the one” in Gayle Stallings. Her personality, organization, depth of understanding of events and auctions, and formulas for:
- Calculating goals and success
- Templates, and
- Unlimited pre-event consulting
This was just what I wanted for my first adventure of event and auction planning.
Gayle, on the other hand, knew 5-months would not be sufficient time to successfully pull off an event (in another city), so she turned me down. She told me no. And then I knew for sure that she would tell me the truth, that she was completely invested in our success, that I could trust her, and that I wanted her even more for our event. So I convinced the Board to change the date. Yes, changing the date from April to September was Gayle’s recommendation too. I could not have been happier.
Through the numerous months we worked together in Austin, Gayle was constantly available to me for questions and consulting via email, phone, and during our once per month in-person meetings. Again, as a first-timer, she guided me through the event-planning process – yes, with templates, ideas, feedback, and approaches, and she cheered me on the entire way.
Every tip she offered was completely right-on target and I trust her whole-heartedly. I would be honored and completely tickled to work with her again and again and only have the highest recommendation for her.
SpineHope raised: $70,000–double the amount from the year before–at their Evening of Hope on September 8, 2012 in Chicago, Illinois. SpineHope provides spine surgeries to children around the world.
